The Marshall Junior High Cross Country teams had a successful day of racing at the Robinson Invitational on October 1. Both the boys and girls showed effort, teamwork, and improvement against tough competition.
Boys Team Recap
The boys' team placed 6th overall with a total of 158 points. Leading the way was Griffin Thompson, who ran an excellent race to place 4th in 11:52. Chase Paulsen followed with a 19th place finish in 12:34. Henry Arthur came through in 35th with a time of 13:04, and Cooper Morey placed 49th in 13:22. Grayson Edwards closed out the scoring with a 51st place finish in 13:28.
Also running strong for the Cubs were Emmett Maurer in 54th at 13:31 and Knox Eastin in 59th at 13:38. Other finishers included Max Walker (119th, 15:04), Barrett Gentry (120th, 15:08), Owen Ockerman (142nd, 15:59), and Lucas Clark (167th, 17:16). The boys worked hard and continue to show steady progress each meet.
Girls Team Recap
The girls' team placed 8th overall with 186 points. The Cubs were led by a close pack as Libby Huisinga finished 30th in 14:55, Charlee Francis placed 31st in 14:56, and Isabella Cervantes crossed in 32nd with a matching 14:56. Liberty Cline added a 44th place finish in 15:17, while Layla Deckard secured the final scoring spot in 49th with a time of 15:27.
Adding depth to the team were Brynna Farrell in 53rd at 15:36 and Caroline Nave in 73rd at 16:51. Carrigan Crumrin also finished well for Marshall in 18:12.
