Last Thursday, the Lions traveled to Robinson to compete in the Cork Classic. The course starts on a soccer field and loops around into a forest twice for 2.96 miles. With its sometimes rugged terrain in the forest section and occasional ditches the runners run through in the corner, this course proves to be a fun, slight challenge for XC runners.
Lady Lion Grace Thompson was this year’s 2026 Cork Classic champion, finishing 1st out of 102 runners with a 19:13.5 time. Teammates Addie Nave, Myah Boyd, and Olivia Moseley all ran great races, with 16th-place 21:22.6, 21st-place 21:59.5, and 73rd-place 26:15.2 place finishes between the three of them. The girls did not have enough runners for a team.
The boys finished with a solid 12th-place, 276 point finish. Steven Hendrixson finished 26th in 17:52.7; Thomas Weber finished 65th in 19:08.5; Bricyn Cassagne finished 74th in 19:30.2; Henry Arthur finished 87th in 20:04; Jacob Weber finished 88th in 20:08.2; and Charlie Fox finished 94th in 20:18.8.
Way to go Lions!
