Lynn Welborn scored received the game ball after scoring her 1000th career point

The MHS Girls Basketball team played one of their best games of the season dominating the Tigers OPH with their trapping defense and excellent ball movement, leading to a 63-25 win in Dietrich Holiday Tournament Play.

Lynn Welborn led the Lions with 28 points including her basket in the 3rd quarter to reach the elite 1000 point mark for her career. This was a team win though with many contributing in different ways at the offensive and defensive end. Harper Richardson had a career high 14 pts, Marlee Heighton dished out 9 assists, and the bench provided 16 pts including 2 3 pointers by Lilly Ross, and helped out on the glass with 6 rebounds from McKenzie Davis and 5 rebounds from Kyla Gustafson.

The Lions return to action in Dieterich Holiday Tournament play on Saturday, facing Arcola at 11:00 and the to seeded Brownstown-St. Elmo team at 4:00
