Dear Marshall JHS Students, Parents, and Guardians,

It is my hope that this letter and its information finds you and all of your family and friends safe and healthy.  No matter what events happen in each of our futures we will all have a common threaded memory of the school year of 2019-2020.  However strange, interesting, concerning, and even frustrating it might seem, I am grateful to be writing to you and being with you on this journey.

With that in mind, obviously, the end of the year wrap up will be without a doubt somewhat different from years past due to the guidelines that schools must follow in connection to health, safety, and social distancing. As far as students’ personal possessions that are still at school. As it stands, all student personal possessions that are in their hall locker, PE locker, and iPad bag have been collected and placed in a bag with the student’s name on it. For those students that we are unable to gain access into a locker because of it having a personal lock on it we will be contacting those students/parents so that we may have their items ready for pickup and exchange.  Likewise, students have textbooks, library books, and possibly iPads and iPad chargers at home that need to be turned back into the school.

In addition, we would have had our MJHS Academic and Sports Awards Nights by this time honoring the achievements of most of our junior high students. Even though those awards nights had to be cancelled and will not be rescheduled, we wanted to continue to maintain tradition and still provide some recognition for those students who earned awards by creating an awards packet that students may pick up.

Therefore, the MJHS Drive-Thru Pickup and Exchange has been organized and will be implemented so that students/parents may pick up their items that are currently at school and school materials can be returned at the same time. Complete details of our drive-thru pickup and exchange plan are in the link below.

Lastly, to all of the students that have made this large transition from learning in a classroom to learning remotely at home. I understand that it is not perfect; it can be frustrating, and at times even difficult, but the resilience that you have developed will carry you far beyond our junior high doors.  Just know that everyone at Marshall JHS cares about you, misses you, and cannot wait to see you walk through our doors once again.

Until that time, stay a VISIONARY, live life with INTEGRITY, and always PERSEVERE!

Best wishes,
Tony Graham
